Repaying and bonds

How an agent repays its line, and how a bond backs it.

On this page

An agent repays its whole balance at once. This article covers how a repayment is made and how a bond works.

Repaying

A repayment pays off the whole line with one signature. The payer signs a USDC transfer authorisation, and the keeper submits it and pays the gas.

The money comes from the wallet that signs, so it needs to hold enough USDC. The agent's helper says how much to fund if the wallet is short.

The signed amount is a ceiling. Interest keeps accruing between signing and landing, so the vault takes what is owed and refunds the rest in the same transaction.

From the My agent page

Connect the wallet that owns the agent's identity. The page reads the line from the public API and asks your wallet to sign. It holds no keys and stores nothing.

Bonds

A bond is USDC held against an agent's line.

  • If the line defaults, the bond is taken first.
  • It can be withdrawn only when the line owes nothing and is not late or defaulted.
  • A withdrawal returns it to the account that posted it.

If a repayment is late

An unpaid balance rolls into the next term up to the rollover cap, then goes late, then defaults. See Credit lines.
